    Travelling around Canada

    June 14, 2023 /

Lola Bianchi, University of Guelph, Canada Before coming home, I decided I really wanted to make the most of my time abroad and properly travel the country as I had previously not really had the opportunity or financial comfort to go on lots of travelling trips around Canada due to how high the cost of living is. Despite this, I had savings left towards the end of March and decided that it was time to spend them.

    Academics in Canada

    March 22, 2023 /

by Lola Bianchi, University of Guelph, Canada I think one of the biggest concerns I had coming on the year abroad was wondering how hard the studying would be, if it would be very different or if i would struggle to adapt to the work load.

Mental Health and the year abroad

    March 20, 2023 /

By Lola Bianchi, University of Guelph, Canada So this is quite a hard topic to write about for me, it’s very exposing and although I am fairly comfortable talking to my friends about my mental health, it’s a whole other ballgame having to write openly about it on a university blog post!

    1 MONTH TILL CHRISTMAS

    November 29, 2022 /

by Lola Bianchi, University of Guelph, Canda It’s the end of November and I swear I can already smell the pigs in blankets and mulled wine from across the pond. Like I said in my previous post, I still have an insane amount of work, and it’s very frustrating as everything is always worth 10/15% of your total grade and as such it makes it hard to tell how much work you are supposed to put into it or what the expectations are. Spooky Season in Guelph

    November 28, 2022 /

by Lola Bianchi, University of Guelph, Canada I am writing this at the end of November as a recap of October as soooo much happened in that month – however I have been swamped with so much work that this has really fallen behind me.

Pre-departure & immediate arrival in Canada

    September 3, 2022 /

By Lola Bianchi, University of Guelph, Canada So I started writing this blogpost about 10 days before I arrived and my pre-departure experience was one which was very stressful. The closer it got to the flying date, the more apprehensive I became.
