💌 A Love Letter to New York City

    August 25, 2026 /

By Hannah Parsons, Rutgers University, New Brunswick Social media portrays New York as a huge city with endless opportunities, places to visit, food to eat, drinks to try and shops to explore. And, honestly? It really is like that. Before I went to New York, I imagined it as big, scary and overwhelming. I had seen countless Tik Toks about how small you feel when you stand amongst the skyscrapers, and I completely understood what they meant. But at the same time, I always saw New York as an amazing place where you could be whoever you wanted to be. I have been drawn to New York since I was…

    52 Hours, 7 States, 5 Friends

    August 24, 2026 /

For our end-of-year trip, we decided to travel sustainably and take the train across the United States from Chicago to San Francisco. We travelled on Amtrak’s California Zephyr, which makes 35 stops along the way.

    Settling into Rutgers University!

    September 24, 2025 /

All things moving in dorm decor, add/drop period and the fun stuff! On August 19th, I arrived into Newark New Jersey to begin my exchange at Rutgers University. I spent a few days with family and friends in New Jersey, visiting the US Open, collecting some room essentials, and soaking up the sunshine!! Driving down to Rutgers on the 24th of August, I was full of anticipation, excitement, but a lot of nerves. Now I realise, everyone else was feeling the same way, and all these thoughts were normal. When we arrived to the parking deck, we were given bins to put our things in to take them up to…

'Cycling through the seasons in Amsterdam' "My first two weeks in Perth! I’ve had a proper Aussie induction through AFL and rugby games, meeting a koala (and snake!) and decorating my own boomerang. Despite it being winter, I have also spent a lot of time by the sea, at Scarborough and Cottelsoe Beaches and visited Matilda Bay on Swan River (not even a 5 minute walk from campus). Through St Catherine’s College, I attended my first Formal Hall (the academic gown) and visited an incredible viewpoint overlooking the Perth skyline." from our GA Elizabeth in Australia 🐨🇦🇺🧡 #uomgoabroad #globalambassador A week in the life at our summer school in Siena ☀️🇮🇹🍕📚🍦🌅 #uom_goabroad Here are photos from my end of year trip from Yosemite, Zion and Joshua Tree National Parks from our Global Ambassador Lucy 🧡 #uomgoabroad #globalambassador Some pics from our summer school students who are currently my in Bordeaux, France (yes, the summer school has its very own dog) ☀🇫🇷🥐 #uomgoabroad These are from my journey on the California Zephyr Amtrak train, from Chicago to San Francisco. The journey was 56 hours but the views of the Rockies and Sierra Nevada were incredible! It is a great trip to do to see more of the USA and also be more sustainable as your carbon emissions are much lower travelling by train compared to flying. - GA Lucy 🚉 #uom_goabroad #globalambassador The last year of my life without a doubt has been the most incredible. I met wonderful people, tasted things I couldn't have imagined and saw the most beautiful sights. Not only did I get to learn a language, but I got to learn about our amazing world and more importantly, Mexico. In my last few weeks, I had the privilege of continuing my travels within Mexico and getting to see how my friends from UDLAP grew up and the culture that raised them. With so many colours even in the streets, its no surprise my friends are so joyful. México, te extraño mucho <3 🇲🇽🧡 Sunny afternoon in Amsterdam - GA Lily ☀️🇳🇱 Go Abroad is hiring! 📣
