MITACS Chapter 3: Remembering to have fun

Because whether it seems like it or not, there is a lot to do in the largest city of Saskatchewan (and beyond), even if it is comparatively small by European standards. The best thing about spending the summer in Regina is that there are plenty of festivals and events to attend, and even Canadian national holidays to celebrate. Here are a few of my favourites!

Island retreats

So after being away for a grand total of ten months, in May I finally took a weekend off work and visited the largest beachy attraction closest to Brisbane that I knew of – Stradbroke Island. Why I Chose to Stay in America Over Christmas
I decided to stay in America over the Christmas break instead of flying back home and I would encourage other students to do the same. I was lucky enough to travel to Montreal, New York, Boston and Miami and each destination was completely different from the last. After overcoming the initial loneliness of spending Christmas away from my family, I really valued the opportunity to travel and spend time with other exchange students who were in the same position. The Exchanger life: midterms, recess week, panic and Fun!

Midterms – Mid September Where to begin… Stressful for sure, especially that we do not have them in Manchester and therefore I didn’t know what to expect. Challenging, because as they count for only 10% to 20% of our final grade, the teachers take them as an opportunity to really test our problem solving skills by giving us impossible exercises… literally.
