food recs in HK :)
By Yun, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology Business School – Hong Kong
Hong Kong is known for the amazing food it has and as someone who has lived here for several months already, I have to agree. Below are some of the best food spots I’ve been so far.
Waso Café (Kwun Tong)
It’s a very popular Cha Can Teng chain in HK, and we went to their Kwun Tong store (relatively less crowded than their other locations)

NOC Café (Tseung Kwan O)
This is a great brunch spot if you’re looking for healthy and yummy options. My all-time favourite is their beef bowl.

Calle Ocho (Causeway Bay)
As someone who grew up in Spain, I would say Calle Ocho gets pretty close to traditional Spanish food. I recommend their Croquetas de Jamón and Paella.

Samsen (Central)
This is also a quite popular Thai food place, with several locations around the city. We went to the Central location, and waited around 40 mins to get in. To be very honest, the food was worth the wait. I recommend their watermelon slushie and Wagyu beef Wok.

Australian Dairy Company (Jordan)
Another classic of Hong Kong. They don’t accept reservations so people need to queue, but you’ll normally get in in about less than 20 mins with HK efficiency. Their French toast and scrambled egg toast are to die for.

Bar Leone (Sheung Wan)
If you don’t mind waiting for 1hr in line to try out the No.1 Bar in the whole world I recommend you to come to Bar Leone! It opened at 5pm and we wanted to get in in the first round, so we arrived there at 4pm. To be honest, the wait time flies by if you just sit there chatting with your friends. I recommend their pizza, definitely one of the best I’ve tried!!
